Treatment for male infertility

Surgical interventions can play a pivotal role in addressing male infertility by helping correct varicoceles, repair obstructed vas deferens, and reverse vasectomies. In case of sperm disorders where no sperm are present in the ejaculate, they are surgically retrieved from the testicles using methods such as Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE), Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA), and Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) to boost the chances of a viable sperm fertilising an egg.

  • Hormone therapy: to regain hormonal balance and improve fertility.
  • Antibiotic treatments or antiviral medications: to treat infections affecting.
  • Antioxidant supplements: to reduce oxidative stress and improve sperm quality.
  • Medications along with lifestyle changes to address erectile dysfunction.
  • IVF - In Vitro Fertilization
IVF is a process in which fertilization takes place outside the body. The eggs and sperm are retrieved, cleaned, and fused to fertilize in a laboratory dish.
  • IUI - Intra Uterine Insemenation
IUI is another method of conception, for which sperm are collected, cleaned, and concentrated. These sperm are then placed directly inside the uterus around the time the woman is ovulating to increase the chances of conception.
  • ICSI - Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection
ICSI is often used in cases of male factor infertility. For this process, the eggs and sperm are collected and cleaned. After which a single sperm is injected into each egg. After an embryo is formed, it is transferred back into the woman’s uterus. The sperm can either be chosen from the ejaculate or extracted using surgery. The most viable sperm can then be chosen using either Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI) or Physiological ICSI (PICSI)
  • Sperm Cryopreservation
This process involves the collection and cleaning of the sperm. These sperm are then frozen and stored for future use.
